Services for Children

If your child’s behaviour, emotional well-being or mental health is causing you concern, then it may be helpful to contact us to talk it through.

Many parents who get in touch have concerns about their child’s concentration, anxiety, mood, behaviour, bereavement or sensory issues. We can also screen for neurodevelopmental conditions to help you clarify whether or not to seek a specialist assessment for conditions such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Psychological Assessment

A comprehensive psychological assessment can be particularly useful when it is unclear exactly what the difficulty is and/or what is causing it. All of our assessments are summarised in a report, which will include a simple explanation of what we think is happening and recommendations regarding what can be done to help your child.

Whatever the issue might be, we’ll work out the best approach, in collaboration with you, and give you all the help and support you need.

Therapy

Depending on the difficulties you or your child are experiencing, interventions might take the form of individual sessions for you or your child, sessions for both of you, or there may be the option of taking part in a group.

Our clinicians can draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Systemic approaches, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) attachment-informed approaches and Non-Violent Resistance (NVR).
