Schools for Looked After and Adopted Children
For many children it is a sanctuary, where they can do well away from the intimacy of care-giving relationships that they struggle so much with. For others school, with it’s demands on socialisation and behaviour can prove an incredibly difficult place to be. In turn this can make life very difficult for teachers and other pupils!
If you or your colleagues are struggling to manage a child in foster care, residential care or who is adopted get in touch. Schools can access a pupil premium subsidy to help looked after and adopted children in school, which can be used to pay for TCPS’s services.
We can help you manage the behaviour and/or emotions of a particular child. If you and your school would like to take a pro-active approach in relation to all of the looked after and adopted children (including special guardianship orders and kinship care) in your school we can offer guidance and support to implement whole school strategies to enhance the learning, behaviour and overall experience of looked after and adopted children in your school.
If you’re interest in using your pupil premium entitlement in this way give us a call or an email, we’d be happy to talk things through with you.
“The input of the provider in children’s schools has helped to prevent children’s permanent exclusion from school.”
“Just talking to (Amber) gave us a great insight about these children and what they are going through …the change has been dramatic …so successful.”
